Interview Of Mandoaa Dragonash

The 19th of October, Le Cercle des Voyageurs (LCV) was very pleased to recieve a great artist and also a great entertainer : Mandoaa Dragonash (MD). His show was broadcasted on our partner radio, www.jetsetliferadio.com/, and it was an amazing performance, he rocked the audience with his voice and his guitar. So now an interview of the artist...

LCV: Where do you come from?
MD: I live in St. Louis, Missouri in the USA now.
LCV: When and how did you start music in RL, and in SL?
MD: Well, I almost always have my guitar in my lap when I am on SL.  if not, it is closeby.  So I started hanging out with friends that would always be in voice chat and I would play. One day I went to a busy sim and started playing and about 30 people showed up. So the land owner shows up and started booking me....then I started to get noticed. RL...I just started playing my guitar when I would be sitting at home on the computer.  It was about 7 years ago.
LCV: Why guitar? Someone inspired you? Or did you feet like "hey, guitar seems to be the coolest instrument" ?
MD: In 2004, I was married, living in Canada....my wife came to me and said she wanted a divorce, I said "well, I want a guitar"...it just always seemed like an instrument that you could play by yourself and have a decent sound.  You don't need other instruments to help you make songs.  Best trade I ever made, you get WAY more women with a guitar than you ever would with a wife :P
LCV: lool
MD: :)
LCV: Did you discover a love for music at this moment? Or music always rocked your life in some ways?
MD: I ALWAYS loved music.  As a kid I grew up dancing, I listened to mostly hip hop and rap then but music was huge in my life .Mostly street battle type stuff, breakdancing was huge where I grew up. So if you were good enough on the cardboard box in the middle of the street, you didn't have to fight your way home :D
LCV: You danced break and hip hop??
MD: Yeah, we were one of the only white families on theblock. Lol, kinda grew up in an urban environment.
LCV: So you have the rythmn under the skin :)
MD: Lol, yes. In high school and after, I would be in dance competitions at nightclubs.
LCV: I'm impressed, i always wanted to be a breakdancer.
MD: If you are white and have good rhythm, you can get almost as many women as with a guitar ;)
LCV: looool! Women are the best reason to improve in all :D
MD: Though some would be reluctant to approach me because they thought I was gay (because I had good rhythm).  Poor girls
LCV: lool, I bet you had enough to forget those ones :D
MD: yeah, I paid enough money for all them :P I'm kidding.
LCV: So you don't do hip hop with your guitar, what kind of artists inspire you now?
MD: I do play some hip hop...most notably, I do some Outkast, B.O.B. and Bruno Mars covers, as well as others. But I like anyone that creates music that makes me feel something, whether its like dancing...or running...or just thinking. Music that gives you chills the first time you hear it, thats always good
LCV: Yes i agree :) Music seems to take a big place in your life, is there something you want to transmit now that you have the possibility to play it?
MD: I just like seeing people have fun. I play at a lot of open mics and one of the bigger ones here (RL) a lot of people play slower stuff and slower tempo. I come in and throw something in the mix and people are up dancing or clapping and singing along. I try to play that kind of music.
LCV: Yes :)
MD: There's enough people out there telling you how to feel or what to do, I'll leave that up to you to decide....all i'm saying is "Have fun doing it" and don't take yourself or anything else too seriously.
LCV: Exact. So about those open mic in RL, tell me more, about your real musical experiences :)
MD: Well, i've played for a couple people in coffeehouses to a couple hundred in bars. I havent pushed my music too much as it's a hobby and I have to focus a lot of my "real job" right now. But now that I have finished my graduate degree as well, I have more time to focus on fun, which includes the music :D
LCV: So maybe some artistic plans in RL? :)
MD: I mean, I like playing music...and I've recently been talking to a couple musician friends about putting together a band of sorts. Nothing too serious, but at the same time, getting out and playing a lot more. People have a great time when I play and I like seeing that. I've even been working on some collaboration stuff with a friend in Los Angeles on some music he makes (he does hip hop songs using some of my guitar riffs and vocals)
LCV: Oh?? nice :) On a CD or else?
MD: Well, he has connections with a lot of independent film makers and stuff...so, maybe someday one of my tunes will be on there. I don't plan on anything big would ever come of this, but I'm not against putting a little work in and having something come from it
LCV: Hey, Hans Zimmer , watch out, Mando is in da house ! :D It woud be great :)
MD: Right...Its a David Guetta mix featuring Mando LOL
LCV: lool
MD: Me and that lil freaky Keenan Cahill kid on a YouTube video
LCV: :D So you still often play in RL?
MD: I do, and working on doing that more;
LCV: Finally for a hobby, it seems to be a real passion you enjoy to share.
MD: Yes, I do enjoy it.  And I enjoy seeing and hearing people's reactions to coming to a show
LCV: And in SL? you told me how you started, now tell me about your experiences in SL on the different stages.
MD: SL is weird...you have a huge collection of people who love to listen to live music. But you also have a huge collection of people who see that and think they can do it just as well. Its work, to learn the songs, to work on playing them, to write music....and I think there is a lot of SL music that is great and a LOT of SL music that is not so great. As a result, you have GREAT audiences that show up and you get a lot of "haters" as well. Personally I welcome both
LCV: lol
MD: But the internet makes a lot of people bolder than they would be in RL, so it's a different environment.
LCV: Yes
MD: Yeah, so I just play as if it was to RL people...and share my RL personality. And I think it's that connection that makes me stand out a little better. There are others that can do that as well, and that's what separates the good from bad here I think. Did I get too deep? :P
LCV: loool, no :) Plans for music in SL? (more concerts, more fun and else?)
MD: Just to continue to keep the fans I have happy and hopefully pick up some new ones. I want to start a musical reich
LCV: loool
MD: Can you reference a horrible nazi tragedy in an interview on SL? I dunno the rules
LCV: I will ask :p Now to end to interview , some more words about you, that you would like to tell?
MD: Honestly, there's not much to me...I'm just some ass that likes to make people laugh and have a good time.  I would invite people to come to a show or take a listen and offer any feedback or suggestions (OOOH NEW SONGS!  GIMME SOME IDEAS PEOPLE!). Basically that's it...and if you feel like leaving a photo of you topless in my mailbox, FINE!   as long as you do it smiling
LCV: LOL
MD: Pretty simple :)
LCV: Send me your mail ... XD... Two last questions.
MD: k
LCV: Your favorite song?
MD: oooh fav song...hmmm. Well, the "go to" song that never fails to put me in a good mood is "Mr. jones" by Counting Crows. Too hard to pick a true favorite song ever kinda thing.
LCV: :) And the last question, is because you make me curious during your shows about your personnality , you are funny, and you love to entertain... would you just tell a bit more about you? :D
MD: Um, about what?  Hell, I could sit here and talk about me all day!
LCV: About your dreams, for music, the way you see the life, such things
MD: I just want to have fun...I'm getting to the point where I realize too many people stress over too much...I'm trying to unstress.  Look for some new videos of new songs and covers on my youtube page and new stuff at my shows. And if you're around in RL, there will be more as well...other than that, I'm gonna find a beach to go sit on soon for the whole day and play volleyball. Until then, it's work...a lil SL and some music to fill in the gaps :D
LCV: :)) Thank you very much for this interview Mandoaa :))
MD: hey no problem! was fun, except now my fingers hurt, and I don't have my boobie pics :(
LCV: LOL, be patient !
MD: Lol, deal
LCV: okay :p, i have your mail.
MD : :D ok sounds like a plan, then i hop a plane to france and get in trouble
LCV: looooool,  i give you my adress XD
MD: :D hahahah thanks
LCV: thanks again for this, it was very fun and interesting :)
MD: Thank you!!!

That's how ended this great interview, and ladies, want to know what? i have his mail :p .....

Interview Of Kasper Robespear

LCV had the sincere pleasure to invite Kasper Robespear (KR) the 15th of October 2011. It was a great performance, and everyone enjoyed it! Also broadcasted on our partner's radio, www.jetsetliferadio.com/, in live. Now a nice interview of our talented artist...

LCV : First global question... Where are you from?
KR : Denmark :) In the very south :)
LCV : And you're very young also, when did start your interest for music, and also guitar?
KR : Well, it started out with when I was 12 years old. I was watching some tv in November, and it was nearly christmas you know. And they were showing a documentary about Metallica, so I though, that is a really cool instrument? I better wish a guitar for christmas! I got a guitar, and then, i've played since christmas :)
LCV : So did you play for Santa Klaus? :D
KR : Haha well, not yet :)
LCV : Aww you should, he would bring you more gifts :p
KR : Haha
LCV : Did you train your voice, or are you a self made singer?
KR : Well, while I took guitar lessons, I learned different techniques from singers, and I begun singing aswell at the age of 12 years old. And I've been singing and playing since that day, so I guess I've trained my voice by myself :)
LCV : Do you have some artists who inspire you a lot for your songs?
KR : Uhhh there are so many! But James Taylor, Tim Christensen, John Denver, and many more! I could tell you a bunch of names all day long haha! :-)
LCV : Lool, i bet, you have a large cover during your performances :) So what does music represent for you?
KR : Lifequality, lifestyle, and my soul. Music is making my day, when I'm sad, I play, when I'm happy I play :) And I'm here on SL to share my  talent with you all, as I hope I can give away the strength I've earned from the music, to you guys :)
LCV : You do pretty well , we really enjoy :)
KR : Thank you :)
LCV : Could you tell me about your RL musical experiences? Maybe in band or else?
KR : Well, as I've told you, I've been playing since I was 12, so that is 8 years from now :) I joined a RL band called NehmNikss which is very popular in my city where I live :) I joined them when I was like, 15 years old, so I've been playing with these guys for like 5 years now :) I've been playing around Denmark a few times with other artists and attending music events etc. :)
LCV : Oh great :)) So you have fans in RL already :))
KR : A little haha :)  I always call it my family though. I think "Fan" is a rush word.
LCV : What do your fans think about your sl contribution?
KR : Well, as I explained, then my "family", or fans as you call it, supports me really well, and can't explain you how much appreciated I Am from that support :-) Without them, I wouldn't be here :-)
LCV : I understand :)
KR : :D
LCV : When did you start singing in sl, and how?
KR : I'm originally from another virtual world called There.com, but after ?
There.com closed down back in March 2009 due to economy problems, I got told about Second Life by my virtual friends. I joined SL back in 2009, and I got told about the SL Music distribution, and I begun doing concerts here :)
LCV : Do you have plans for your artistic life, both in rl and sl?
KR : Well, I strive to be the best performer in RL and hopefully on SL :-) I've seen and heard many musicians who is playing on SL for a living, but when everything comes to the end, then I only play here on SL for the fun, not really for the lindens :-) I enjoy every minute with my family here on SL or should I say fan, just for the readers hehe :) It's very important to keep in mind, that playing here on SL, is a way to get dreams coming true, as you know, you can't just go to a ?
venue in RL and say; "Hey, can I play here Thursday 10 AM?", you can do that on SL! :-)
LCV : Lol indeed. Are there some things you really want to transmit with your music?
KR : Well, most of my songs/cover songs are about love and life, as they have some very important things people should know :-)
LCV : Yes :)
KR : :)
LCV : Now i'd like to ask you if you also enjoy the other parts of sl? Like some places which could be your favorites, relaxful or beautiful.
KR : Well, mostly I attend to concerts, play concerts, and then socialize. I love meeting new people and make new friends :)
LCV : Lucky you ! you met me ! Looool, kidding!
LCV : <<<< modest
KR : Lol, :D, love ya haha
LCV : Okay i have to release you in a short so a last question.
KR : Go on :)
LCV : Do you have some more words you would like to tell about you? Free topic :)
KR : I just wanna say thank you all for your great support, and it's so wonderful to play a concert while you guys are there with me :-)
LCV : Aww thanks to you for sharing that much with us , really. Oh last little question : favorite song?
KR : Shower The People - James Taylor... Read the lyrics and you'll understand why :-)
LCV : I'll do for sure :D Thank you very much for answering to my questions Kasper it's very sweet of you :)
KR : Thank you for a great intereview hun :)
LCV : You're very welcome :D

Interview Of Jacoblevi Parx

Jacoblevi Parx (JP) performed the 8th of October at Le Cercle des Voyageurs, and ladies and gentlemen, it was a great moment ! The concert was also broadcasted on Jetsetliferadio, our partner, and it was a journey through a smooth voice, with amazing guitar accompaniment. To explain better, i simply copy/paste (and translate) a comment from an auditor, posted on jetsetlife radio page :
"Very good concert, given by Jacoblevi, a very veautiful voice. His guitar made us travel."

So after the concert, we were lucky enough to have some time with the performer for a nice interview.

LCV : Where do you come from?
JP : I'm located in the middle of the uk in the country of Yorkshire.
LCV : Is it where you were born?
JP : Yes that's correct.
LCV : How did you start music (voice and guitar) in rl?
JP : Well i've always loved singing, and i've tinkered wih musical instruments throughout my life,  you know keyboards recorders etc. But only about 8yrs ago i did start taking things serious and picked up a guitar and started to seriously learn all because of a musician called Elliott Smith.
LCV : Do you have other musicians who inspired you? :) For the guitar especially?
JP : Conor Oberst from Brighteyes, Elliott Smith, John Lennon, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, The Shins, Velvet Underground (amazing), and soo much more... All music inspire me so it's hard to single out any one or group of artists.
LCV : Yes i imagine lol. So how did you finally start to sing in sl?
JP : Well it all started with a friend of mine, she gave me the courage to actually stand up and do an open mic event and i all started progressing from there.
LCV : She did good to encourage you. What does music represent for you?
JP : Everything, it interprets all aspects of life. Anything you feel,  say or do can be found in music, you find that if you ever feel a certain way then you learn to a certain type of music. It's in everyone and we all have our own internal beats and rythms and i find it amazing to see what people especially artists create with this rythm and beat. We're unique in everyway and music flows from us all.
LCV : Yes :) Did you have some rl musical experiences?
JP : Only a little. My first experience was in a play when i was 6 yrs old and that's when i first sang in front of an audience, but since with my guitar only a few open mic events in my local town.
LCV : :) How was it? you remember it?
JP : Yeah it was exciting. I went with some other musician friends, i was extremely nervous and i remember on one of my songs i got the begining wrong and i stopped, said sorry and for some reason played the whole song really fast to get it over with. I bet people where like what the heck is this guy doing lol!
LCV : LOOOL! i bet it was cute :D
JP : Certainly funny.
LCV : Actually would do like to have some musical experiences like concerts maybe in bars and else?
JP : In rl maye, yes it would be nice but face to face i get more nervous, but the buzz you get from it is amazing, seeing people's facial expressions and response to words you say and everything, it's a good feeling. But i get shy.
LCV : :) That brings me to another question: how does it feel singing in sl, when you know people are listening, but you're not face to face?
JP : There's a slight detatchment from people, especially with the delay of streaming, you finish a song and 10-20 seconds later you get and applause so it throughs you a little, but it's nice hearing the comments people are saying about you during a show, that builds you up and inspires you to do better and work harder.
LCV : It doesn't give you the desire to perform in front of people to get their reactions, their applauses directly?
JP : I dont think directly i'm looking for applause but looking to share my work and see what response it gets, i like honesty from people and i'm always striving to be better, and when i get honesty from someone, i appreciate it, it helps me on my musical journey. Applause is nice, it feels good and in rl too it's great but its not something i crave in either worlds.
LCV : I understand :) So, any plans for your artistic life in sl?
JP : Not any ambitious ones at the moment. I just want to share what i have with people who will enjoy it,i wont be everyone's flavour, but i once heard in an interview that if you like your song then someone else will, so i want to share the songs i like with people and have the ones who like it be around to listen
LCV : Yes i agree. We are at the end of our interview, some more words you would like to tell us?
JP : Just 'Say yes', one of my favourite Elliott Smith songs, give it a listen and fall in love.
LCV : :)) I promise i will. Thank you very much for accepting this interview and for answering , it was very nice :) And thank you again for your great performance :))
JP : Yaaaaayy! You are most welcome it was a pleasure
LCV : For me too :)

We can assure you something : we will invite him again in a few !
